Analyse or Analyze

Recently we got a mail from our reader John asking what is correct to use - ‘Analyse or Analyze’.
Answer is whatever you want to use, there is no difference between Analyze and Analyse except geography. Analyze is preferred by American English where Analyse is preferred by British English. Other countries like Australia, India, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand prefer to use 'Analyse' rather than 'Analyze'. This s/z difference extends to other derived words as well like Analysed or Analyzed, Analyzer or Analyser. But 'Analysis' is the corresponding noun form of all varieties of English.
It is advisable to use any one form consistently, that means if you are using 'S', then use Analyse / Analysed / Analyser, otherwise use Analyze / Analyzed / Analyzer.
