Awaiting vs Waiting (Wait vs Await)

Below are the differences between Awaiting vs Waiting (Wait vs Await).
1. 'Wait' is used in the sense of 'expect something, staying in one place'
Wait vs Await (Waiting Vs Awaiting)    'Await' is used in the sense of  'Look forward   or Expect something'
2. 'Wait' is an intransitive verb, so it cannot take direct object. But 'Await' is a transitive verb, so it can have direct object
Not acceptable: Ben is waiting Jack’s reply.
Acceptable: Ben is waiting for Jack’s reply 
Acceptable: Ben is awaiting Jack’s reply.

Remember: 'Await' can be replaced by 'Wait for'.
